The WTXCMC is in search of community-oriented volunteers that want a new challenge and purpose in life! WTXCMC is designed to empower residents of the West Texas region to resolve all types of conflicts through the use of mediation, an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) process. If this interests you, please read on…

The WTXCMC offers mediation assistance for a variety of conflicts, including the following:
Consumer complaints
Custody and visitation
Employer/employee conflicts
Financial disputes (small claims under $5,000)
Landlord/tenant disputes
Minor criminal mischief
Neighborhood and community conflicts
Personal injury
Police and court referrals
Property and damage disputes
School/Parent/student attendance mediation
Teacher/student in-school conflicts
Threats and trespassing
Such resolution is achieved with the assistance of trained, impartial mediators who facilitate meetings between the disputing parties.

Volunteer Mediator Opportunities & Requirements

The WTXCMC will be staffed by volunteers, who must meet certain training requirements prior to any mediation they facilitate. Mediators must first take a 40-hour basic training class, followed by an additional 30-hour mediation training course specific to family issues before they can serve as a mediator for some cases. Mediators for the attendance/truancy programs will have less training requirements. Mediators represent a wide variety of fields within the community, from business and education to retired individuals and homemakers. Please send an email stating your desire to be a volunteer to:
